The Stories We Could Tell

San Francisco!

Our visit to San Francisco was all about family and friends. We got the chance to see James’ wonderful Aunt Randi and Uncle Joe in Moraga. Their lab, Maggie, and Tucker became fast friends. They spent the day chasing each other and doggie paddling in the pool while the humans grilled and watched Monday Night football…. such a great day! We also caught up with some of my old college pals. Heather and Larsen hosted homemade pizza night on Saturday night, then we all headed to a German ale house on Tuesday night for more fun. So great to see old friends!

Our plan was to head to Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks after San Fran. Those plans were quickly derailed during one of James’ routine tire pressure checks. Turns out two of the four tires on the trailer were worn bald. The other two had normal wear… odd, and most likely indicative of a potentially serious problem with the axle. Not good for driving long distances. We replaced the injured tires and made the executive decision to head to Ventura where we purchased the rig. Luckily the trailer is still under warranty. She will be staying in the service department there until she can be repaired. With Lance in the shop, we were quickly made homeless. Aunt Randi and Uncle Joe to the rescue – they were kind enough to offer up their Goleta pad until we get our home back. Thanks Randi and Joe!

  1. Sorry to see I checked into this site too late….would have loved to catch up when you were in San Francisco. Sounds like you are back home now (well, your former home). Let us know if you plan to come north and start from where you left off.
