The Stories We Could Tell

Portland, OR: Multnomah Falls

Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the US. In fact, the Portland area has some of the most amazing waterfalls we have seen on this trip. We weren’t expecting these falls to be so high and so breathtaking. There is a trail that takes you to the top of the 620-foot falls. We heard it was only a mile trek up, so although we were ill prepared (no water, not wearing the right clothing, etc), we decided to take the hike. It was way tougher than we expected – longer and steeper than we had been let on. But it was well worth the struggle. The view from the top was amazing! How often does one get the chance to view a waterfall from the very top of the falls? Amazing. Even Tucker made it to the top… then slept the rest of the day.

  1. Uncle Ken and I loved Oregon. We were lucky enough to be there when they had their big beer festival on the river and volunteered to work it with another couple of our friends. Pouring beer for all those thirsty people was quite an experience – especially when we started running out of beer. But we were rewarded at then end of the night with getting to drink any left overs (which the public didn’t know about – HA!
