The Stories We Could Tell

Living the way-too-good Life

Traveling can be pretty tiring, so we decided to take a vacation from… our vacation (we are so spoiled, we know)! Carolyn and Jim were generous enough to look after Tucker for a night, so James and I boarded a ferry and headed to Vancouver Island to visit Victoria. The charming town was such a fun getaway… but I think we may have been more excited to enjoy the perks of a nice hotel room! The bathroom felt as large as our entire trailer. We thoroughly enjoyed long, hot showers! Ahhhhh. Feeling revived we laced up our walking shoes to explore the town. The oldest Chinatown in Canada is in Victoria, as are several beautiful parliament buildings. At night we dined at Cafe Brio, quite possibly the best meal of our trip (great suggestion, Carolyn!). James even got to enjoy a traditional Canadian Caesar (their version of a Bloody Mary). We capped off the night at a local pub! So fun!

The next day we hit Buchart gardens. Acres and acres of gardens cover the grounds here. It was lovely, but super crowded. I think James saw enough flowers to last him the next 50 years. Here’s to my fabulous trooper of a hubby.

  1. We did the same thing (minus having to find babysitter for dog). We left the motorhome, parked the car in a lot, and ferried over to Victoria. We stayed in a close-by B&B for a couple of nights and enjoyed the scenery. Even went to Buchart Gardens. You are in some beautiful country up there. Enjoy.

PS. We’re visiting with your JC,TN cousins, Bria.
