The Stories We Could Tell

Wagons East!

Now that we are organized, hitch and parking practiced, and have aerodynamic haircuts (actually just James) the time has come to leave the nest here in San Diego and head out.  First stop will be a small town outside of the Grand Canyon near Flagstaff named Williams. We leave first thing Friday morning – long drive ahead campers!

PS: High marks for Campland on the Bay.  Great place to camp in SD – clean, friendly people, more amenities and activities then we could take advantage of.  Hopefully we didn’t get too spoiled here.

  4. Hi Guys! Congratulations on your new adventure. I know you will have a great time, but it will make returning the the “real world” very difficult. 🙂

Wonderful blog – just one suggestion: reduce the size of the full-size images (the ones that appear when clicking on the thumbnails)

    Safe travels!

    • Thanks for the tip… what’s the easiest way to reduce the size of the images?

      • I notice now that the first time a thumbnail is clicked, a larger image opens. Then, if that image is clicked, an even larger (file size) opens. e.g. You and mom – the 1st image is 158.59 KB and the 2nd is 2,037.37 KB.

It will be faster for you to upload and faster for visitors when viewing if you reduce the size. Not sure what controls you have with WordPress, but the program you use to download the pictures from the camera will let you scale-down the images using either compression or resizing or a combination of both. An excellent free program is IrfanView.

Take a look at this page for some tips: http://om4.com.au/client/preparing-image-files-before-uploading-with-wordpress/
